beautiful 14-year-old girl killed in hit and run crash in North Fort Myers
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – Lee County deputies are investigating after a 14-year-old girl was killed in a hit and run crash Saturday night.
Allana Staiano, 14, was walking home with a friend on McDaniel Drive just south of Gish Lane in North Fort Myers when a driver hit her around 7 p.m., according to Staiano’s mom Christine Gray.
The friend she was walking with was also hit by the car but only broke her arm. Gray said Staiano was a seventh-grader at Calusa Middle School.
Deputies confirmed the driver left the scene of the crash. The driver has not been found.Stewart was left with a broken arm and terrifying memories of the moments she saw her friend dying.
“She was barely breathing like she was breathing but barely,” said Stewart.Stewart remembers Allana for her fun personality.
“She was very happy. She loved all her friends. She loved her family, her new puppy,” she said.
Allana had a twin brother and four sisters. Allana’s family is hoping for justice and an arrest but also better lighting in the Suncoast neighborhood where this happened. Allana’s grandparents have started a fundraiser on Facebook
